Seasons of Change and Transition

Heya everyone, it’s been a minute. Most of the year, in fact. I believe the last post I did was in January, without looking. So where have I been?

After “The Tower” Comes “The Star”

If you read tarot, I basically have been through both The Tower and Death in several ways for the whole of this year. It’s been transformative, painful, overwhelming, yet freeing. My health in particular has taken a heavy hit in the process. Things are still all over the place, but I’ve been carving out space to recover and take care of myself. Sorting through the fallen rubble, and learning when to put the stones down to rest.

I’m very much still in that liminal transition. I can’t say I’m “back” in any full way on social media, but I do miss it. I miss writing posts. I miss making videos. I miss sharing and talking with others about art and our experiences.

I’ve still been drawing and creating when I can. I just haven’t really been sharing it. Painting traditionally has been very difficult to do, which I may share about in more detail another time. I’ve found comfort in slow projects, play, and experimenting mainly. Slowing down. Having an iPad now has helped a lot for the very low spoon days. Something I can simply pick up and play with immediately, with no clean up.

There’s more I’d love to share, but I’ll leave it here for now. It’s still surprising to me how even writing can take the spoons out of me. Take care.

A photograph of a peach coloured rose blooming in my country garden. The flower is in full bloom, with dark foliage surrounding it. Wouldn’t it make a lovely colour palette for a painting?
